Weather at Shelter Bay

weatherBeing in the tropics, Panama has only two seasons: the dry (rainless) season starting late December ending mid to late April and the rainy season form the remainder of the year.

Temperature:

Mostly in the 80’s (mid 20’s Celsius) with cooler temperatures from December to March. Expect humidity above 80% in the rainy season with 50-60% in the dry season. Annual rainfall: 160 inches mostly coming in downpours lasting from one to three hours.

In the dry season fresh breezes of 16-22 knots from the NE bringing a moderate sea state. In the wet season expect light 5-7 knots breezes often from West. The rainy season can bring thunderstorms and squalls that rarely last more than an hour. Sea surface temperatures are fairly constant in the low 80’s (low 20’s Celsius).
